Over the past few weeks, the crew has been busy with structural enhancements to the loft. The original structure failed to meet current building codes, so we have added a ridge beam and additional floor and ceiling supports. The crew also cut holes for skylights. Once we have our final permits, we will be able to begin work on the loft dormer and all of the main floor systems: plumbing, electrical and gas. We have tunneled from the garage to the house to connect with our main house plumbing and electrical. The two structures sit very close to one another, so excavating to create access to our main house systems was relatively easy.
