Away we go...

Dear Friends,
1996…2009.  13 years.   Thirteen years of memories, too many to pack into plain brown boxes.  The echo of empty walls calls for something, something more than a forwarding address.   There is no script for goodbye.  Ours begins with a house.  Our love for this single family home was reverential and real.   We pinched ourselves everyday living here.  But a house no matter how beautiful is still just a house.  What happens between the walls is what counts.  Memories were created…and created.  A two-day-old baby boy was carried across this threshold, with all the wonder of ten perfect toes.  Three boys passed their early childhood in warp speed, knowing comfort and diversity and friendship; each inch, each new tooth, each smile, each tear filling in the ground floor foundation.  Their foundation.  Where did the time go?  A garden grew into a statement of what can be in a land with no limitations, only imagination.  We lived our version of the California dream.  Evenings were shared with family and friends in every season, in every mood.  We lingered, with laughter and stories and long meals.  The days were long, the years were short.   At this closing, the nostalgia wells up inside like a cresting wave and I give in to the simple truths:  there will never be enough 70 degree February days, or lazy afternoons by the pool, or hikes into the hills, or time spent with you.  Thank you for making these last 13 years a chapter to cherish.  We will not forget you.
With Love,
Alex, Grant, Cole, Carson and Quinn
